Finalists are announced for Grampian’s Chef of the Year
high quality praised as contest draws record entries

FINALISTS have been announced in the Grampian Chef of the Year competition to be held on Monday, May 25.

The event will see some of the area’s top chefs competing in a cook-off at Aberdeen College. It will culminate in an awards dinner at the Mercure Ardoe House Hotel, near Aberdeen. Hospitality Training presents the competition in association with Grampian Food Forum. More than 60 entries were submitted.

Karen Black, general manager of Hospitality Training, said: “We are delighted by this year’s response and have received a record number of entries especially in the senior and junior categories.”

The finalists’ dishes will be judged by the Federation of Chefs Scotland using the international marking criteria of the World Association of Chefs. The president of the federation, Joe Queen, said: “In general, the quality of submissions has been high, and I look forward to tasting the best that Grampian has to offer.”
